Se trata de una nueva modalidad adaptada por World Athletics que le da continuidad al Campeonato Mundial de Medio Marat\u00f3n \u2013que se disputa desde 1992- y que ahora tambi\u00e9n incluye una prueba de la Milla en calle y otra de 5 km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En esta oportunidad, la presencia sudamericana se di\u00f3 a trav\u00e9s de cinco pa\u00edses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Uruguay &nbsp;en el primer Mundial de Carreras de Calle:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mar\u00eda P\u00eda Fern\u00e1ndez, logr\u00f3 el r\u00e9cord &nbsp;nacional de milla en ruta con 4.45.81;adem\u00e1s P\u00eda fue 19\u00aa en la competencia entre las mejores del mundo en Riga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Santiago Catrofe fue 27\u00b0 con un tiempo de 13.49 en los 5000 metros, signific\u00f3 su tercera mejor marca en la distancia.
