Con la presencia del presidente de la Rep\u00fablica, Luis Lacalle Pou, el Ministerio de Turismo inici\u00f3 la temporada 2023-2024. En la ocasi\u00f3n, el ministro Tabar\u00e9 Viera anunci\u00f3 que entre el 15 de diciembre y el 30 de abril los turistas residentes no pagar\u00e1n impuesto al valor agregado (IVA) en hoteler\u00eda. Tambi\u00e9n explic\u00f3 que habr\u00e1 un subsidio para trabajadores con ingresos menores a 45.000 pesos, que empezar\u00e1 a regir en febrero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La actividad se desarroll\u00f3 en La Paloma, departamento de Rocha. Participaron el subsecretario de Turismo, Remo Monzeglio; el director nacional de Turismo, Roque Baudean; el intendente de Rocha, Alejo Umpi\u00e9rrez; su par de Maldonado, Enrique Ant\u00eda, y el alcalde de La Paloma, Sergio Muniz. Viera se\u00f1al\u00f3 que desde el Gobierno nacional se espera con optimismo el desarrollo de la temporada y valor\u00f3 la resiliencia que demostr\u00f3 el sector tras el impacto causado por la pandemia. A modo de ejemplo, se\u00f1al\u00f3 que en los primeros nueve meses de 2023 llegaron casi 2.800.000 visitantes al pa\u00eds, cantidad que super\u00f3 la registrada en 2022. El gasto por turista tambi\u00e9n aument\u00f3, dijo. El jerarca agreg\u00f3 que en el \u00faltimo trimestre cerrado a setiembre llegaron m\u00e1s de 150.000 brasile\u00f1os. \u201cEs un r\u00e9cord hist\u00f3rico de visitantes en esta \u00e9poca del a\u00f1o\u201d, explic\u00f3. Estas cifras, junto a otros indicios, como la presencia de excursionistas en el \u201cferiado de octubre\u201d, muestran que habr\u00e1 un buen movimiento. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTodo hace indicar que vamos a tener una buena temporada\u201d, expres\u00f3. El Gobierno nacional trabaja para fomentar que los uruguayos desarrollen sus vacaciones en el pa\u00eds. Sobre este punto, anunci\u00f3 que, en atenci\u00f3n a una propuesta del sector hotelero, se decidi\u00f3 implementar el IVA tasa cero para turistas residentes. Este beneficio estar\u00e1 vigente desde el 15 de diciembre pr\u00f3ximo hasta el 30 de abril de 2024. Adem\u00e1s, a partir de febrero se \u00a0implementar\u00e1 el programa Turismo para Todos, que beneficiar\u00e1 a los trabajadores cuyos ingresos sean inferiores a nueve bases de prestaciones y contribuciones (BPC), aproximadamente 45.000 pesos, dijo. La medida consiste en un subsidio del 50% del costo de hoteler\u00eda en aquellos establecimientos que se adhieran al programa. Asimismo, record\u00f3 que los turistas extranjeros mantendr\u00e1n los beneficios que est\u00e1n vigentes, como el IVA cero en hoteler\u00eda y alojamiento, servicios gastron\u00f3micos y alquiler de veh\u00edculos; un descuento de 40% en combustibles en las zonas fronterizas con Argentina y de 25% en las zonas lim\u00edtrofes con Brasil, as\u00ed como tambi\u00e9n la devoluci\u00f3n de impuestos en las compras.
