Este lunes 5 de mayo, en la ciudad de Canelones, se conmemor\u00f3 el 212\u00b0 aniversario de la instalaci\u00f3n del Primer Gobierno Patrio de la Revoluci\u00f3n Artiguista en la Villa Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de Guadalupe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En este marco, en la plaza 18 de Julio, se izaron las banderas patrias, se realiz\u00f3 el tradicional toque de campanas y posteriormente se coloc\u00f3 la ofrenda floral, instancia en la que participaron la Intendenta de Canelones, Profa. Gabriela Garrido, el Alcalde del Municipio Canelones, Dar\u00edo Pimienta, el Secretario General de la Intendencia, Javier Rodr\u00edguez, y el Jefe de Polic\u00eda de Canelones, Comisario General (R) Fabio Quevedo Brito. Por motivos clim\u00e1ticos, el acto protocolar con las instituciones educativas debi\u00f3 ser suspendido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El Primer Gobierno Patrio, cuya sede estaba situada donde se encuentra hoy el edificio de la Jefatura de Polic\u00eda de Canelones, se instal\u00f3 desde el mes de mayo de 1813 hasta la creaci\u00f3n del Congreso de Capilla Maciel, en diciembre del mismo a\u00f1o, significando un hito fundamental en el proceso democr\u00e1tico y confirmando la impronta artiguista en la historia y la identidad del departamento de Canelones. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
