El d\u00eda 3 de diciembre en el D\u00eda Nacional del Candombe el artista pl\u00e1stico local Luis Haro, restaur\u00f3 el mural ubicado en calle Treinta y Tres esquina Varela realizado por \u00e9l a\u00f1os atr\u00e1s en homenaje al candombe local. Esta actividad fue co organizada con la comparsa local Abran Cancha quienes ofrecieron un show a puro candombe en nuestras calles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El D\u00eda Nacional del Candombe, la Cultura Afrouruguaya y la Equidad Racial se celebra cada 3 de diciembre en Uruguay porque esa fecha, en 1978, marca la \u00faltima vez que sonaron los tambores de candombe en el \u00abConventillo Mediomundo\u00bb antes de su desalojo y posterior demolici\u00f3n. Este hecho, ocurrido durante la dictadura c\u00edvico-militar, simboliza la resistencia de la comunidad afrouruguaya frente a las medidas discriminatorias y la preservaci\u00f3n de su identidad cultural. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Ley 18.059, aprobada en 2006, estableci\u00f3 oficialmente esta fecha con el objetivo de: Valorar y difundir la expresi\u00f3n cultural del candombe. Reconocer la contribuci\u00f3n de la poblaci\u00f3n afrodescendiente a la construcci\u00f3n de la identidad nacional. Promover la equidad racial y reflexionar sobre la desigualdad. \u00a0El candombe, una expresi\u00f3n nacida del sufrimiento y la memoria colectiva del pueblo afrodescendiente, es hoy un pilar fundamental de la identidad uruguaya y fue declarado Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 2009<\/p>\n\n\n\n
