El Gobierno de Canelones, el Municipio de Las Piedras y el Comit\u00e9 Patri\u00f3tico de Las Piedras celebrar\u00e1n el aniversario 215\u00b0 de la Batalla de Las Piedras el pr\u00f3ximo 18 de mayo en la ciudad pedrense, donde se conmemora el primer triunfo del ej\u00e9rcito oriental liderado por Jos\u00e9 Gervasio Artigas frente a las tropas reales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ese d\u00eda se realizar\u00e1n el acto protocolar y el desfile policial, militar y de caballer\u00eda gaucha previstos. Las actividades comenzar\u00e1n a las 09:30 horas con la concentraci\u00f3n de instituciones educativas en el monumento al Pr\u00f3cer Gral. Jos\u00e9 G. Artigas (Av. Artigas y Rep. Argentina). A las 10:00 horas se realizar\u00e1 el acto protocolar y a las 10:30 comenzar\u00e1 el desfile de instituciones educativas por Av. Artigas hasta Pilar Cabrera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A las 13:50 horas empezar\u00e1 la recepci\u00f3n de las autoridades en el Obelisco de Las Piedras (Bulevar del Bicentenario) y la llegada de los chasques provenientes de Sauce y Montevideo, mientras que a las 14:05 horas se desarrollar\u00e1 el acto protocolar central con la colocaci\u00f3n de ofrenda alusiva y a las 14:45 horas dar\u00e1 inicio el desfile militar, policial y de caballer\u00eda gaucha por Bulevar del Bicentenario, Av. Artigas hasta Lavalleja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desde las 17:00 horas se llevar\u00e1 a cabo el Gran Premio Batalla de Las Piedras en el Hip\u00f3dromo de Las Piedras, y a las 18:00 horas se realizar\u00e1 el cierre musical con Candelaria Cantoni y Cumbia Club. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
